I am not sure if the information supplied by the agent was correct or not for this fare. The moment you divert from the LGW-DFW-JFK routing, the price shoots up.

If you really wanted to do a run on that routing, try driving out and extra 20 miles. to LAX

On Oct 27 to Oct 30, for a $275 fare , you can do LAX-SJC-LAS-STL-JFK-STL-LAS-SJC-LAX for 5500 base miles

If it is purely for miles and you can skip going to JFK, then try LAX-SJC-ORD-PVD-ORD-SJC-LAX for $151 for 6356 base miles on 11/9 to 11/11.

As I said, it is work in progress. JFK fits in there but I can't force it in without blowing the fare up.
