You mean the US security clearance queue at T1? Yes, it can at times make one wonder which farm animal one is most closely emulating.
I am told Monday is always the worst time. And they have this habit of calling forward the PAX running late to skip ahead - except the laneways are too narrow to accomodate people suddenly moving counter to the queue direction, and it becomes even more chaotic.
This is the alternative I know of - there is a "priority lane" to the right (as one faces the entrance) for flight crews and trusted travelers, but they also allow in some Air Canada Elites and credit card holders:

So it looks like an AMEX Plat card is the easiest way to avoid that line.
There is also a special line to the left designated for people with disabilities, but some PAX get routed there.
Oddly (to me), F or J tickets don't help.
Now, I was flying J departing from YYZ earlier this week and have an AMEX Plat card, but got in the general queue before I noticed this priority queue, and feared it would look suspicious to jump out of a security lineup, so I just stayed.
