I submitted some "feedback" via the Hilton post stay survey about the slow internet. Here is what someone at this hotel replied.
The Internet speed and the comments you have made I have passed on into the feedback for Hilton as we are one of the Pilot Hotels for Hilton to test the Internet Bandwidth. Sorry to hear that we couldn’t satisfy you – the speed of 1 Mbit is already above the Hilton recommendation but I understand from you that it is not sufficient for Streaming which is correct.
This clearly shows Hilton corp wants the standard free speed to be less than 1M down.. Many of these speed test show 0.5M
