I don't know if potential hijackers would want elite status in frequent flyer programs. I understand the hijackers mostly tried to blend in, including giving frequent flyer numbers, but I don't know if they were numbers that had been used much or at all previously.

More than ever, honesty is the best policy, and complete honesty if there are followup questions.

Furthermore, I predict the USA airlines will be very nice to anyone who flies them in the next few months. What could be a nicer gesture to the airline than a person who flies when she doesn't "have to"?
