Hi UltraRant

Well, my investigation would suggest that it's not really about people bumping into crazy deals every now and then and sharing it with others. This also happens, sure, but 90% of the ones announced on the most popular portals point flipo as the source, which means flipo has them first and does it some way. And I agree they rather don't query websites, I think they more like query databases directly, using an API. I'm considering buying one myself, but I'd prefer to test one first and it might be not that easy to test whether it would find the open jaws correctly.
As for the mechanism - yes, they might be a result of an error. But on the other hand they happen so often and with so many airlines that I'm beginning to doubt it as well. There's also the "low-price-to-stuff-the-plane-up" thing and in general some moves aiming at encouraging people to buy a ticket but, as I said, even single legs of such trips are never advertised in those cases which I think at this moment stops making sense. And also, what's the most interesting in the whole subject, the price is only shockingly low when the trip is combined hard. Usually every single leg of the trip, counted in any other way, returns incomparably higher price, denying the theory that this and that leg is so cheap that it makes the entire trip cheap. No, only everything altogether and on specific dates.

Very interesting.

Any other ideas? Anyone investigated the subject...? Anyone worked something out as for finding them themselves? :]

Best
Chris
