Try SAN--AUS with a 1 day min. stay, 14 day advance. For $136 RT on AA, route SAN--LAX--DFW--AUS late one night, red-eye into Texas, and return that day.
TW has SAN--AUS for $96-- don't know if this counts for the challenge.
