Well, I gotta say I called this. I was all set to switch to UA MP, but then they said "later this year" they'd update the charts, which btw, was in like October 2014, and only NOW have they done it. I knew they'd halve many of the earnings. Glad I didn't switch, I wasn't gonna lose much dumping AP, but now it would mean I'd gain nothing either by moving to MP.
BOOM and I mentioned it to anyone on the UA board that would listen that they'd be DEEPLY cut and lots of people didn't believe me and basically asked why. My answer was why would UA give you 100% miles on SFO-NRT with ANA and give you only partial miles for SFO-NRT on UA. They want you flying their aircrafts, it makes sense and other programs do it.
My K class ANA ticket in Feb earns 100% currently, after Mar 1, 25%. But for those of you buying top tier fares, you are actually getting more bonus than before. But I think I'll just stick with AP and earn my standard 50% and be ok with that.
But what I find egregious, is FLEX fares (Q, V, W, G) which are by no means discounted, listed as Discount Economy and only getting 75%.
