You raised a good point though; there's been several times when I've been asked for my passport (after using GE) at YYZ T1 connections. The part you posted about incidents of border guards asking to see a passport is quite true; has anyone here actually pushed back on that?

I've been turned away once in 2010 for not having my passport, by an agent who absolutely refused to accept just my Nexus, stating that I was told I must travel with my passport as well. Knowing how easily they could detain me, I didn't question it, flew back to YOW, and picked up my passport.

How far have people pushed on the "I only need Nexus" with agents?
