is it easier to rent in STT , use fairy and use jeep in st johns? or would it be easier to take a taxi in St thomas for a few days since we are not staying there much and rent from st johns ( at resort or cruz bay)

We stay for a week every year at the Westin on St. John. We rent jeep at discount car rental on st Thomas and take car barge over.
