Important information regarding Vietnam
On January 1, 2015, customers roaming in Vietnam will have their data experience slowed to 2G speeds. On January 13, 2015, data roaming access in Vietnam will be blocked. At this time, voice calls and text message (SMS/MMS) access is not scheduled to change. This was an independent move by the Vietnamese government, and T-Mobile is working to get the rates back down.

Guess I'll have to get a local SIM for data coverage there next month. I think the Vinaphone one has a package for 25MB per day for less than $1/day. And I was about to get rid of my 2-sim Samsung Core, I guess I'll keep it for awhile.

I just returned from Vietnam and Cambodia and can confirm that there was no data in either country. However, cheap sim cards in both countries were easily had in the arrivals hall. 3 minutes max and I was on my way with 3G data. In Cambodia, the guy wiped out my APN settings to get the data to work, which caused me some issues when arriving back in the USA.
