When BA damaged one of our hard suitcases it was replaced with a slightly larger and lighter Antler polycarbonate one within days. We were impressed with the Antler cases we bought a complete set

Maybe Antler were too expensive and BA has enhanced the service. I would go back to BA and say that the replacement case is not suitable
