Called again today on arrival+....was offered downgrade to no fee with 1000 points after first spend (a little better than just downgrade, but barely) they also offered to allow me to pay the upcoming AF with points....they said the annual fee was waived last year when I applied, and they couldn't do much more. I will have to double check and make sure the fee was waived the first year, but I have a feeling those were their best retention offers....so I cashed out my remaining $75 worth of points and will cancel in a few days once it clears.....on the plus side I was instantly approved for my second USair card.
