BA damaged baggage replaced with much worse, smaller suitcase - what to do?
On my recent flight LAS/LHR/BCN my suitcase arrived severly damaged with big holes in the hard polycarbonate case and deformed in the back. It was new suitcase, purchased few months ago for 250 USD.
As I reported this directly in BCN luggage desk I received the damage report and was instructed to contact BA by phone.
During the phonecall I found out they actually cannot check what kind of replacement I am receiving and even suggested not to accept the delivery.
Unfortunately I was not at home and my husband accepted that package as the box looked big.
However after opening it I discovered they have sent me a much worse suitcase K2 Global Proglide 5, at least 20% smaller, heavier, not from polycarbonate material, only up to 23kg - obviously cheaper and not the kind you use for long-haul flights!
Do you have any experience with that? I am exteremly dissapointed with the replacement suitcase, I will definately not use it and now I need to purchase another extralarge suitcase for my travel needs.
