Thanks to all for your welcome and for taking the time to give me such clear and helpful answers to my questions! I have to admit that I was covering my bases somewhat. I just didn't want to be missing a trick by accumulating TPs which would not contribute to an increase in level when actually 'those in the know do such and such clever little trick'... Not least when I occasionally fly routes (e.g. out of PNH) where I cannot use OneWorld at all.

Anyway. I am much reassured that that I'm not missing out on a secret and will, as politely advised, shut-up and enjoy my Silver Status ;-)
