If Target can figure out that a 16 year old girl is pregnant, they sure as hell know that a bunch of people from Flyertalk are spending ridiculous amounts of money on credit cards for points.
It's not a secret. It's a controlled experiment. If that dude goes to the focus group, I'll bet $10 that one of the questions is "now that you got the minimum spend bonus points on you Chase card, what is stopping you from doing it on a Bank of America Card".
You are not being sneaky. This is not a glitch. You are all pawns in Amex and Targets ,aster plan, which is to GET YOU TO GO TO TARGET, AND PUT MONEY IN AMEX'S WALLET.
The same way we are churning, and using other people's money to make points, Amex is taking that money for the other card companies and investing it and making more money. It's a giant Ponzi scheme.
