Welcome to Flyertalk tfwiii

And my greetings to you tfwiii as well, welcome to Flyertalk and the BA forum. It's good to see you here, and actually you have asked a question which in its current format I don't recall being asked before.

From your spelling (or spelling checker!) I assume either you or your IT is set to English (British). So I am assuming you are UK based. In which case I don't think you should "concentrate" your travel elsewhere, since you typically dilute your points and status all over the show. Even as a frequent traveller this is tricky to maintain.

Furthermore you never know how the future will work out. I went through a stage of crediting my TPs over 6k and then 9k to AA, since BA at the time didn't give additional benefits. As a result, when the BAEC lifetime categories were announced I was short on one of them due to my misplaced dalliance with AAdvantage, and had to wait a while to achieve it. And every so often my old AA number turfs up like an unwelcome relative at a wedding.

On the other hand I would ensure you have "use if absolutetly necessary" account for Star Alliance and SkyTeam. If you specifically do Lufthansa flights then I would go for that since their Frequent Traveller level (silver-ish) is not too difficult to achieve so long as you stick to the Lufty group. If not look at Aegean or Turkish. For Skyteam it makes less difference since Air France and KLM are on the same programme and the other airlines there are more tightly aligned than Star. Maybe look at Alitalia. There is also the Virgin situation, but I feel it best not to intrude on private grief. But I would not focus on earning outside BAEC. Unless - of course - the grass is greener there.
