Air Canada blames lower loonie for not scrapping fuel charges

http://www.bnn.ca/News/2015/1/27/Air...l-charges.aspx

Canadian airfares may not become cheaper anytime soon, despite tumbling oil prices. One airliner blames the lower loonie, saying the currency has had an 'unfavourable impact' on costs to Canadian carriers.

Air Canada (AC.TO -1.00%) tells BNN the recent “relative decline in the Canadian dollar has had an unfavourable impact on the real cost of fuel to Canadian carriers,” since airline fuel is purchased in U.S. dollars.
