The Danish police have been told by the government to ramp up searches for fake/stolen passports (used mostly by refugees/asylum seekers) and for those persons (including, but not limited to, known or suspected criminals) blacklisted in some form. This tasked searching is to be done even when it comes to intra-Schengen travel, and that means on-arrival gate searches. For that purpose, money has been budgeted or will be increasingly budgeted by the Danish police and by CPH to enable more such checking, including via resources which are to be freed up/made available via electronic ID checking kiosks that are intended to come to CPH this year.

Also, Denmark's government is one of the growing number of EU/Schengen countries pushing for an EU-wide mass surveillance system of passengers, an intergovernmental spying system (via PNRs) which is intended to have US-style TSA ID and boarding pass checking prior to being allowed into the security screening checkpoint. It is intended to also include blacklisting of persons, free or otherwise, when it comes to air travel at least. Unless privacy rights and freedom to travel prevail, expect more and more checks and more and more time/hassles when flying into and out of CPH.

[The Swedish and Norwegian governments are also on the same page as the Danish government in pushing for this kind of mass surveillance and travel control regime even for intra-Schengen air travel. The latest excuse to push for this kind of change: paranoia about "foreign" terrorism/terrorism by the "other". That is a rather ironic excuse when the worst regional terrorist atrocity in the past several years was done by someone who didn't need to fly to commit his attacks and whose attacks wouldn't be stopped by ID checks -- that person being Norway's terrorist by the name Anders B Breivik.]
