I had a couple of stays here. Just after Christmas, and then on New Years day.
Given the many missed bookings from when the room was supposed to be ready, I'm sure we got a bit more complimentary stuff than the norm in the room.
We were escorted up to the Executive lounge, and the Director of Operations for the hotel, Herman, joined us soon, and was quite helpful. I had a booking the month before, that was supposed to be a birthday stay, for my youngest daughter, but unfortunately the room hadn't been completed then. This booking was for my oldest daughter, and Herman graciously comped a dinner for us.
The suite is split into two sections. The residential section, is to the left off of the entryway, and the living/dining/kitchen to the right, each with it's own separate door. There is small sofa in the entryway.
There was a fabulous fruit basket, and so many sweets and such that I would have gone into diabetic coma if I had eaten half of them. We also got a couple of bottles of wine, and a refrigerator with non-alcoholic drinks provided gratis.
It has a dining table for 8 people, to the side of the living room. The living room has a very large 70" TV wall mounted. The living room has floor to ceiling windows.
A bar, and full kitchen are to the side.
There is a workdesk at the entrance to the living room. The desk is very movable, and no electrical plugs on the desk, only near the floor a few feet away. There a couple of pieces of art in an alcove near the desk.
Indonesian artwork near the desk.
I found the overall effect of the living room quite nice. I had some furniture issues. Even though we were only the second guests in the room, I found scratches and scuffs on some of the wooden furniture. The sofa was a bit low for me, and the green decorative chairs, had odd angle iron feet, which were very easy to trip or hit your feet on.
This part of the unit has a half bathroom.
The bedroom section was a bit smaller than the living room, I think. It has a huge closet (10' x 10', I'd guess). There is a king bed, a 42" TV, and two sofas in the room. Lots, and lots of cabinets in this suite. More cabinets than I've seen in most houses.
They like to give you a cute towel animal on your bed. We got an elephant. Nice quality bed. Surprisingly, no universal electrical outlets near the bed. Also, only standard sized towels in the bathroom. Seems strange considering it's the best suite in the hotel.
Pretty nice bathroom, with separate tub, shower and toilet. Interestingly enough, they had pictures in the toilet cubicle, that included a picture of the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle, that showed the Grand Hyatt in the background.
They have a rainshower head in the shower, and it took me 5 minutes to figure out how to switch from the normal shower to the rainshower.
And here's the other waiting area with sofa in the bedroom.
The Executive lounge was pretty nice. Rotating hot items every night, as well as cold items and snacks. About what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. The chairs at the lounge desk seem to have been made for little people, as the seats were only 12" or so off the floor. I'm not a tall guy, but they were too low for me.
The property also has shuttles on the weekend to nearby shopping centers. At this point they didn't have a shuttle of their own, so were giving out vouchers for a taxi.
In closing, right now you can often find this hotel at under $100 per night. It's a good solid choice, even if you don't get the presidential suite. It's got a nice Kids Club that is now open, and often has other activities around the pool.
The staff was quite nice, and they certainly made up for the late opening of the Presidential Suite.
