Fair enough. I actually like the extremely short layover the HEL outbound to Asia. Not sure if Finnair has a Special meal deal on C flights to TXL. Maybe it's a mental issue, but the ability to stretch your legs the minute I stop on a QR plane in TXL beats the better Finnair connection on the inbound.

Sure, the ICE Train to / from FRA is nice, but adds hours to a journey. Not sure where the benefit would be. About once or twice a year I use the early morning sprinter to FRA, have meetings in FRA and then head out to Asia on LX/BA/QR or Finnar to SIN or BKK (Lufthansa's longhaul C class - - - no thank you).

Slightly OT:
I'd become a Finnair addict if they were to adequately space their shorthaul C class (say, 55' pitch ). They do have quite a few "shorthaul" flights in excess of 3 hours, so I am somewhat surprised that they do not use that chance to further distance themselves from other legacies. I frequently do day returns TXL AGP TXL - it's brutal enough on AB or LX, but I always notice that Finnair has that 1 a.m.'ish departure ex AGP (except in winter), so an intra-Europe red-eye. Add 55' seat pitch in C, and I'd be sold. As things stand, my time on the ground in AGP is limited by the 05 p.m. departure to TXL on AB. I am 1,95 and weigh in at 85 kg, so seat pitch is more important to me than meals. With the recent seat pitch - ahem - enhancement on BA CE, short hauls within Europe have become dreadful everywhere except Germanwings. Now, if QR were to AGP to their destinations, here's what I would occasionally do: TXL DOH AGP (Arrival next day) HEL TXL (Arrival next day). Back to back redeyes. And given the leeway that Finnair allows for multistop reservations in C, I would not surprised if a ticket routed AGP HEL TXL DOH AGP would actually be quite reasonable.
