I'm new here and glad to have found my way to this excellent resource! I work mainly in Japan and commute at least once every month from my base here in the UK. I used to be a BA Gold card 10 years ago but then switched to Virgin and have been a gold member for the last 5 years. Virgin have now stopped their service to Narita and the only thing available as far as I know is a codeshare with ANA.

I've therefore decided to switch back to BA and have already booked my first few flights for the year.

I did read in one of the stickies about BA occasionally matching the membership level under certain circumstances. I have to start over all again and I'm now a blue member although I expect to achieve Silver fairly soon.

In your opinion, would it be worth for me to get in touch with BAEC to see if they would bump me straight to gold? If so, how do I go about it?
