What is the order for offloading of pax during wx IDB?

We are on UA69 ARN-EWR and they have just announced that we'll take a 60-90 minute delay to offload 40 pax due to weight restrictions on the 757.

Unclear if we'll be diverting to YYR or if the offloading is to allow pilots NOT to have to divert to YYR (the fear being that if they land in Goose Bay the snow in Newark might prevent them from continuing).

What order is typically used to offload / IDB people during w&b related wx?

It'll be interested to see if we're OK -- sequence number in the low 20s, 1Ks, on a K fare. We'll report back if they take us or not.

We **tried** to volunteer our seats but there was no inventory to our final destination ARN-xxx-BOS: (1) there was space ARN-ORD and some UA space ORD-BOS, but only Y1 and they would not force open a second Y seat on ORD-BOS; (2) there was space ARN-LHR-BOS on SK/VS, but they weren't interested in booking VS; (3) they tried to look for ARN-MUC-BOS, but MUC-BOS was actually already cancelled. It also was not clear what the volunteer offer was (they did not ever say // were cagey & would not tell us).

They actually ultimately did not even announce a call for volunteers, just the announcement that they are wx'ing a bunch of pax!

A bunch of ORD-bound pax are delighted that there is an ARN-ORD available, at least.
