So, you say, well You get what You pay for and it is in between You and Delta... Well, then Delta just redefined what You paid for...
"If they toss out something better than what you paid for...that becomes your new expectation." No, I say that is your fault for thinking they owe you more than what you paid for and making that the new expectation. Disappointed, sure, frustration enough to create a new topic, probably not. I know we now live in a world where everyone thinks they deserve better, well grab that credit card out and pay for it if you think so. Again, the OP paid for economy, upgraded to business and you think he should be upset that he didn't get a first class suite on another airline when Delta held his original flight at NRT, really?
In your original example of the middle seat, how is that Delta's fault that you had two big people that smelled of garlic beside you Delta's in any screwed up version of reality? Again, I know we live in a world where we are supposed to blame the big evil corporation, and Delta has more than their share of screw ups, but how could you seriously blame them? Delta defined the experience as getting you from point A to point B safely as as quick as possible, nothing more. Because you think they owe you more is not their fault.
