I know - supply and demand and all that stuff. I get that costs may have increased (although I have my own opinions on fuel surcharges) and BA aren't a charity however I've just checked flight prices for our annual Tampa trip. Last year I took advantage of the sale and booked them on Jan 27th - total cost £2080. The same WTP flights for Dec15/Jan16 in the current sale coming in at £2950 Time to start shopping around I think
