We were thinking Atlanta, but I don't know if the kids would like it
The Atlanta area is a great place to live; but unless you are into the Civil War or Civil Rights, it is not an ideal vacation destination, in my opinion.
Might I recommend
Chattanooga? It has an
excellent aquarium,
Lookout Mountain,
Ruby Falls,
Rock City, a funicular railway, a minor league baseball park, excellent views of the Tennessee River with a pathway which follows along it, quaint shops and restaurants — all of which will keep you, your wife and the kids entertained.
Best of all, Atlanta is only 100 minutes away if you want to spend the day and go to the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca Cola, Centennial Olympic Park, the
Children’s Museum of Atlanta, and the CNN tour — all within walking distance of each other.
