My wife was denied for the AA Plat (50K offer without explicit churning restrictions). She had two previous AA cards (Mastercard and Visa), opened in 3/2013 and 7/2013. One of those (Visa) is still open, and one (Mastercard) was closed last year. Denied for already having an AA card.
