Back in November, I booked SEA-DFW-FRA and back on AA in first using miles. I did it as 2 one-ways for scheduling reasons. Mid Dec, the DFW-FRA and FRA-DFW segments were downgraded from a 777-200 in F to a 763 in Business. Got a notification and the reservations all looked fine both on the AS site and the AA site.

I randomly checked this morning and my outbound trip now terminates in DFW!?!! The DFW-FRA segment was just gone. I called the partner award desk and a very nice agent investigated. Apparently when the flight changes were made the prior agent used a wrong code or something and something went wrong. She wasn't able to fix it in real-time, but if I don't see it fixed by monday she suggested calling back in.

She was also going to credit me the miles delta between F and business - 12,500 miles each way.

What's bizarre is that the return trip is fine....

Anyone else have something like this happen? I'm glad I check my account/trips somewhat regularly. I don't care to wonder what would have happened if I just went to check in 24hrs in advance with no confirmed booking for the long leg!
