You missed my point. It's not about feelings or valuing a customer. It's simple economics.
If the AF posted within 60 days, and Chase refuses to credit you the $50 or whatever amount your GC was for, simply threaten to cancel as then the company weighs $50 vs. $395, since the AF will be refunded.
That is not a proper cost-benefit analysis. There is actually a lot more than would go into the decision.
