Won't catch me there. I normally stay at the LAS Marriott. Some of the best staff in the entire Marriott chain, all rooms are suites, full buffet breakfast since they don't have a lounge. It's not on the strip (neither is the Ren), but not difficult to get to strip.

Having said that, I've got a biz trip to LAS coming up (large trade show w/ 100,000 of my closest friends) & forgot to book the LAS Marriott last autumn, so will split the stay between the Ren & Chateau (unless something opens up at LAS Marriott). The Ren has a cheap AAA rate on the weekend before the show actually opens, and then I'll switch to the Chateau where I also got a higher AAA rate but still reasonable during the trade show. But will suck not to be at LAS Marriott.

Since the stay at the Ren is on the weekend the lounge won't be open anyway, so I'm doing the AAA rate that includes a $25 food credit. The Ren has been going downhill in terms of service, so I've got my expectations set correctly (ie, don't expect much). LAS Ren is one of the few places I've invoked the Platinum arrival gift guarantee.
