Definitely with CX, IB, BA on recent flights. Fairly sure with QF and others also but I don't have a recent one to hand.
The itinerary email has subject line: AA eTDS Itinerary Document -XXXXXX
The same info appears if you get an email resulting from a schedule change.
The partner booking reference is located after the terminal information of the arrival airport of the first partner flight:
Date: XX NOV 14 - TUESDAY
Flight : Cathay Pacific 807 B77ER
Departure: CHICAGO OHARE 2:00 PM TERMINAL 5 INTERNATIONAL 15HR 50MIN
