On my trip a week ago, I took Vietnam Air SIN-HAN, Vietjet HAN-DAD a few days later and then DAD-SIN on SilkAir.

My Vietnam Air flight was an hour late and was an old plane with worn seats. The vietjet flight loaded quickly and we took off 10 minutes early. The plane was new with nice leather seats. The Silkair flight was 45 minutes late and had a worn interior.

In addition, I was running rather late for my flight. There was a rather long checkin line but when the person that checks your stuff before you get in line saw that I was less than 30 minutes before flight time, she sent me to the "skyboss" counter that checked my bag and quickly sent me on my way. The bag made the flight OK also.

I may have had an unusual experience but I am now a Vietjat fan. They were the best of the three. However, like with all LCC, you do pay a small charge for food/drink/seat selection.
