I wonder what that's like (evacuation procedure)?

Sometimes for my job, I have to ride a ship and am usually in the lowest most aft part of the hull where the only exit involves me moving to the other side of the ship with low ceilings full of cables and pipes and climbing over several rotating shafts. I hate to imagine what would happen if it started flooding.

From what I've read, the crew rest areas above or below aren't exactly easy to get into. I would imagine they probably arent as safe as sitting in a jump seat.

As for renting out the space to pax, I suppose it is possible. Maybe the FAA would require some changes. Maybe there would be a special safety video. If they can have apartments and showers on a 380 that meet FAA safety rules, I'm sure its possible to install multi-tier bunks for passengers.
