Not personal experience but of another traveler with US passport on one of my trips:

Cuba does not stamp or attach anything to your passport. A slip of paper is put between the pages of your passport and you are told not to lose it. Upon exit the slip is taken back by the Cubans.
He mention make no reference or carry any traces of a Cuba visit when he returns to US.
