I was on a transcon where I noticed the guy across from me being brought a real PDB upon request, so I asked, too. He was joking around about being a "regular" on the route so that the crew knew to offer him one; he sounded a bit ... taken with himself frankly. Definitely a remark from him along the lines of "enjoy the drink you got because I was onboard."
