So, I think this is probably a ridiculous question, but here goes.

Is there any advantage of having 2 separate AmEx Platinum accounts (in one household), as opposed to one account with a secondary user?

I'm guessing the only advantage would be getting the extra 40,000 bonus sign-up points on the second account. And each card would then be eligible for the $200 airline credit, etc.....

In terms of the yearly fee, $450x2 vs $450+$175 is an obvious reason to go for one account with an extra card.

Thoughts?
