It may be possible for a crew member to switch you to another seat, provide an additional pillow cushion or manually adjust the seat/headrest to make you more comfortable. At the very least, it means the seat will be reported in the "Operational Deficiencies" log so that the engineers can fix it before other customers suffer.

That's nice, but the problem with the A318 CW seats isn't something that's rectifiable - it's in the design. If you're of a certain height or size (long body, but short legs - I'm 6ft tall yet have a 29" inseam!), the fixed headrest cushion is extremely irritating, and as it's physically attached to the seat, there's not a lot you or any crew member can do about it.
I've found stuffing cushions down my back to alleviate it somewhat, but it's still my least preferred BA J experience because of this.
This doesn't explain why I've signed up for another jaunt to Hawaii in November on one though! Sucker for punishment! (And tier points!)
