The Phoenicia is a landmark itself with top-notch facilities and service, where also the local crowds go. But the club lounge was just ok.
Le Vendome is a small, luxurious and more private property.
Overall, if you would like to experience a "grand" hotel in Paris of the East, I'd take the Phoenicia; unless you really need the space.
