AA/Alaska Codeshare Fail [seats lost]

Booked RT SNA-SEA for our family of four via aa.com (we are AA PLT). Received email confirmation of seats on AS codeshare flights in row 7. We check in and notice we are assigned to last row (28). Flight is full, no options to move. AS agent tells me "that's what happens when you book an Alaska flight through aa.com". I call AA PLT line and rep tells me it's an Alaska issue.

The good thing is we made it home. The bad thing is we sat in non-reclining, cramped seats, with no overhead bins, and were treated to the ungodly smells and sounds of the lavatories for the duration. (Oh, and the food sold out by the time they reached us, so my kids went hungry.) This is our reward for our tens of thousands of dollars spent each year in loyalty to AA.

My questions to both AA and AS fell on deaf ears. It was like raising a concern with a clerk at the DMV. "Go away, sir. We don't care."
