Not sure what the issue is with the Emirates website but first class fares out of Manchester state they are FLEX, but on looking at the tier miles section they always show as SAVER.
I have emailed EK but just got a generic email back
We wish to inform you that the number of Skywards Miles earned when flying Emirates are calculated using four basic inputs: route, fare type, class of travel and tier. Routes are based on geographic zones, similar to our rewards structure. This means earning a specific number of Miles for flying between zones.
Tier miles and Skywards Miles will now be earned based on the fare purchased. Flex fares will earn 100%, whilst Saver fares will earn 50% of the base miles. This applies to both Skywards Miles and tier miles.
Even doing a dummy booking now for April. MAN to BKK. The first fare states it it FLEX, but awards SAVER miles.
The Flex Fare is greyed out when first fares are selected so its impossible to search with the Flex fare checked.
The same happens when searching from Heathrow. Only 24000 tier miles for a roundtrip to BKK
Website is glitchy with F fares - there is a situation where First fares all used to earn flex miles and so on the search, F fares are automatically "flex", including some of the A class discounted first fares. However, some routes were updated so that A class only earnt saver miles, but they didn't change the website coding.
As always, the final word is the e-ticket and fare conditions that you must agree to before purchasing the ticket, and on that page it will say whether the fare is actually "Skywards Saver" or "Skywards Flex".
However, if you have screenshots etc. you may find a sympathetic agent, otherwise you are likely to get what is on your e-ticket, that is, saver miles.
Of course, all this changes next month when new fare classes come into force...
