Just a shout-out to my fellow DCA US Airways traveler yesterday evening 1/18/2015. While you ranted on for 20+ minutes to the only working agent at the US/ Admirals Club in concourse C, others in line behind you were waiting with actual ticketing needs. There were multiple IRROPS flights and an 8pm Charlotte departure may have made connections possible for other passengers. As it unraveled, your rant caused at least one passenger (me) to overnight in DC rather than make it to his destination Sunday evening.
Your harangue continued from 7:15pm until 7:40pm, including the following notable talking points:
(1) You are a Chairman's and you were overlooked for a battlefield upgrade on an earlier flight.
(2) The F/A on that flight referred to the lucky upgrader as an "Executive Chairman" seated in 9-D, and she made a cryptic reference to the "new American Airlines."
(3) You do not know what rara avis is this Executive Chairman (and neither did the solitary Club agent), and why, o, why were you denied?
(4) You have a current US Dividend Miles balance in excess of 600,000. This mighty number you demanded the solitary Club agent repeat aloud at least twice, and then you insisted that she transcribe it onto paper. This was the only transactional event during your visit to the Club.
(5) You are going to switch to United; you cannot take it any more with US and the bumps of this merger.
The flustered agent several times tried to calm you and to serve the passengers in line behind you, but you would not have it. The shouting continued unabated until you invoked the threat of a United switch, and liking this final salvo, you stomped off to the elevators.
