There's no trickery involved, they're not hiding anything, nor stripping it away. The difference between the HBO fare and the normal is usually fairly small anyway.
I can agree with that.

The other option BA could have taken is the AF "MiNi" fare route and believe me the less said about that myriad of complexity the better.

Or the KL route (inspired by DL no doubt) of only elites get bags.
