Regarding breakfast, my question is whether the RC was open or not. If it wasn't, and the breakfast was in place of, then tax and tip should have been covered. If the club was open but you had breakfast in the restaurant because your rate covered it, then the rate rules govern regarding tax / tip (Diamonds do not automatically get tax / tip covered for breakfast just because of status - only when there is no lounge serving breakfast).
Good point. The lounge was closed, though, so the usual rules about tip should have applied. My rate also covered breakfast, so I initially thought that was why they charged me (though I still think tax should have been covered...the tax was probably a separate screw-up). I pointed this out, but they said that either way I'd have to pay the tip. They claimed it was just tip, but my receipt clearly showed otherwise.

Resort fee: I agree that even a $5 reduction for diamond members (and platinum) on paid stays would be reasonable/defensible, and not leave a sour taste.
