QF has a chart for the 'Intra-Australia' region. I don't know offhand if that region definition includes NZ or not. I can see online results for SYD-MEL whereas SYD-CHC and SYD-AKL give an error message with nothing found so I'm going to guess that region doesn't include NZ. Sadly its not part of the Intra-Australia definition. It has to be in conjunction with a NA flight to get to NZ. I was hoping AS would allow me to do open jaw stop-over JFK-LAX-MEL/CNS-AKL. For cash is seems MEL-CNS is cheaper than CNS-AKL.
