I totally agree with NickB here, and would single out the three times I have passed through Calgary Airport as my worst experiences. Vancouver so far has been a breeze. Last time, I thought the woman was really trying to screw me by being really provocative, asking to see all my credit cards, asking if I was planning on becoming a homeless person, and more. What is their problem? I'm a Brit, not a refugee with a Camerouni passport, with no intention of emigrating to Canada. A bit of humility seems goes a long way as does demonstrating that they can take all the time they want.
