Flew into Clark Field in the Philippines last night.
All went well until the immigration official turned over my card and saw no endorsements on the back. I explained to her that no U.S. issued cards have endorsements because the U.S. is a transitional member and doesn't participate in the pre-approval process.
She left the booth and I saw her speak to three or four other immigration officials over a space of five minutes. She then came back and asked me how long I intended to remain in the Philippines. When I told her three-days, she just gave me the regular 30-day non-ABTC entry limit instead of the ABTC 59-days.
Effect is that they did not recognize it as an ABTC entry.
Sigh . . .
Particularly interesting because the next APEC meeting is here in a week's time.
