The TPs can be advantageous to some. My ex-DUB will be nested within a MAN-LHR-DUB-LHR-MAN, so if I don't take the last leg I am throwing away 100TPs. I speculatively calculate I will need these to retain Gold (my trip is in November and I become Gold in Feb). Dublin is not an onerous place to visit.
