If you drive to BHM and originate from there, you can fly to anywhere Southwest flies and take advantage of Southwest compete fares that require a 7 day advance purchase and an overnight stay.

I just priced BHM-BOI via ATL and SLC for 12/9-10 at $235. I do not have a mileage calculator but I suspect that's pretty close. If not, you can try to force a triple connection and you would certainly be at 6400 miles.

The timing of the BHM-BOI itinerary is great, too, in that you wouldn't even have to overnight at BHM. Flight departs BHM at 10:15 a.m. and you're back in BHM at 7:36 p.m. on Sunday night.

You can get the same fare from BHM to SEA via ATL and DFW, but it doesn't get you back to BHM until almost midnight.

If you're a little short on the miles, BHM-SDF via CVG the following weekend is $108.

You probably need to finalize your plans on 12/2 if it takes two trips to do this.
