Another option would be to take a short flight to Sri Lanka and spend a few days there. British Airways flies this route if you have Avios to burn.
BA won't be flying to Sri Lanka by then (poster goes in June). The last flight to Sri Lanka is March 28. Maldives also goes seasonal too so will only operate in the winter months.
