Except not all of the 2 to 2-1/2 hour flights involve SEA. AS serves quite a few other cities
other than SEA.

I certainly could see RT catering on flights to Mexico, for example, but I'm not sure this is
done routinely. Loading 36 perishable meals sounds like an issue for refrigerated space
in a cramped galley. And not all aircraft operate between city pairs on the West Coast, like
they do for flights to BOS and other far-flung destinations. They continue on up or down
the West Coast.

Yes, I'm quite sure that some bean counter figured out it would be cheaper. But perhaps
not for this reason.
