The reason for its cancellation was interesting,by the way. The daytime departure was highly popular, but the problem was the return leg (AF004) which left CDG at 20:45 and arrived at JFK at 23:00.
This westbound flight was apparently always very light, which I honestly find surprising since it allowed pax to spend essentially an extra day in Paris and then arrive home in time for bed.
Perhaps the problem was that the late arrival at JFK precluded any pax connecting onward from JFK from choosing this flight.
Too bad Delta doesn't do an exchange with AF for this flight, much like Braniff did for the Concorde. Braniff pasted on a US registration (starting with N- ) and flew it between IAD and DFW. They had local traffic rights. British Airways flew MIA-IAD-LHR but all MIA passengers were ticketed to LHR.

For the 2100-1030+1 layover in CDG, maybe they could do a short 1 hour flight somewhere or time it with a long haul flight that takes more than 24 hours for a round trip.
